Oc­ca­sional liq­uid short time slugs and high liq­uid load­ing in pads caus­ing liq­uid car­ry­over are in­evitable. So is the con­se­quent liq­uid car­ry­over into the com­pres­sors. Figs 3, 4 and 5 show what hap­pens when liq­uid slugs oc­cur. The end re­sult is mas­sive liq­uid car­ry­over into the com­pres­sor and its po­ten­tial de­struc­tion. Hence, spe-
