ME lo­ca­tion in­side a KOD

Figs 7-12 show ME lo­ca­tion guide­lines which are very im­por­tant for the suc­cess of KODs. Over­look­ing th­ese leads to failed com­pres­sors: in case ME is too close to the gas in­let, gas en­trained liq­uids es­cape the ME, en­ter the com­pres­sor and dam­age it. Lo­cal­ized high ve­loc­i­ties with liq­uid re-en­train­ment in ME por­tions and too low ve­loc­i­ties at oth­ers im­pair the liq­uid cap­ture ef­fi­ciency. On the other hand, ME too close to KOD out­let re­sults in in­ad­e­quate space for the ve­loc­ity pro­file to even out. One pos­si­ble so­lu­tion is ME down­stream ve­loc­ity pro­file evening out the de­vice.
