Sud­den pres­sure surges and oth­ers caused dam­ages

The fol­low­ing events could po­ten­tially and se­ri­ously dam­age the com­pres­sors:

1 Pres­sure surges from com­pres­sor re­cy­cle, e.g. an­ti­surge valve open­ing could dis­lodge the ME pad el­e­ments, con­se­quent liq­uid and even dam­aged pad frag­ments’ en­try into the com­pres­sor. Con­nect­ing the re­cy­cle valve out­let KOD up­stream is a so­lu­tion. 2 Hy­drates formed in Nat­u­ral Gas pipelines of­ten dam­age the ME pads, vane sep­a­ra­tor, con­se­quent liq­uid car­ry­over into the com­pres­sor. Ap­ply­ing one, more, or even all of the be­low listed reme­dies to the MEs avoid pres­sure surge ill ef­fects: 1 Re­in­force with heavy-duty ma­te­ri­als

2 Fas­ten ME el­e­ments with bolts, in-

stead of tra­di­tional tie wires

3 Pro­vide an up­per sup­port ring in ad­di­tion to the

lower one (fig. 18)

4 Pro­vide a pres­sure re­lief door in case of a mesh
