Oil In­dia’s sec­ond find in KG Basin

In­dia Ltd has made its sec­ond hy­dro­car­bon dis­cov­ery in the on land KG Basin NELP VI block. The dis­cov­ery in the KG-ONN-2004/1 block was made in May at well Thanelanka-1 in Andhra Pradesh.

Ear­lier, it dis­cov­ered gas at well Dangeru-1 in Andhra Pradesh in the same block. The well Thanelanka-1 is the first high pres­sure - high tem­per­a­ture well drilled by Oil In­dia and has en­coun­tered mul­ti­ple sands in Gol­la­palli For­ma­tion of Late Juras­sic-Early Cre­ta­ceous and one zone in Raghava­pu­ram For­ma­tion of In­tra Cre­ta­ceous. Presently, the well is un­der fur­ther test­ing.
