LANXESS In­dia bags two awards for its Sus­tain­able prac­tices and CSR ini­tia­tive

Lanxess In­dia Pri­vate Lim­ited, the lead­ing spe­cialty chem­i­cals com­pany has been ac­knowl­edged for its dili­gent ad­her­ence to­wards sus­tain­able prac­tices and con­tin­ues ef­forts in the field of Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity (CSR), and has been hon­oured with the Indo-Ger­man Cham­ber of Com­merce (IGCC) Award for ‘Out­stand­ing Con­tri­bu­tion to­wards best Sus­tain­able Busi­ness Prac­tices by a Large En­ter­prise’ for the year 2018 and the In­dian Chem­i­cal Coun­cil (ICC) Award 2017 Cer­tifi­cate of Merit for So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity.

Namitesh Roy Choud­hary, Vice Pres­i­dent, PTSE, Lanxess In­dia re­ceived the IGCC award, and the ICC award was re­ceived by Mr.Nee­lan­jan Banerjee, Vice Chair­man and Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, LANXESS In­dia and Mr. Sun­der Ra­jan, Head – CSR, LANXESS In­dia

Lanxess has been a founder mem­ber of To­gether for Sus­tain­abil­ity (TfS) ini­tia­tive, which is a joint ini­tia­tive of chem­i­cal com­pa­nies that fo­cuses on the pro­mo­tion of sus­tain­abil­ity prac­tices in the chem­i­cal in­dus­try’s sup­ply chain around a sin­gle stan­dard of au­dit­ing and as­sess­ment.

The or­ga­ni­za­tion ini­ti­ated and com­pleted twelve unique CSR projects across dif­fer­ent lo­ca­tions in the coun­try in 2017. This in­cluded projects like Teach for In­dia, em­pow­er­ing mu­nic­i­pal school with dig­i­tal class­rooms, in­fra­struc­ture de­vel­op­ment of mu­nic­i­pal schools, san­i­ta­tion & hy­giene camps for work­ing women from slums in Thane, up­grad­ing health­care fa­cil­i­ties in Nagda Mu­nic­i­pal Hos­pi­tal by way of in­stalling a sonog­ra­phy ma­chine, main­te­nance of over­head wa­ter tank in Nagda by sup­ply­ing wa­ter to the lo­cal pop­u­la­tion and in­stalling so­lar street lamps.
