IIT-In­cu­bated PuREn­er­gyTo Com­mer­cially Launch Lithium Bat­ter­ies

IIT- Hy­drabad in­cu­bated start up is all set to com­mer­cially launch lithium bat­ter­ies at the re­new­able en­ergy expo 2018, Greater Noida. Dr Nis­hanth Don­gari, As­sis­tant Pro­fes­sor, Depart­ment of Me­chan­i­cal and Aero­space En­gi­neer­ing, IIT Hy­der­abad, says that the bat­ter­ies have wide ap­pli­ca­tions in di­verse field in­clud­ing agri­cul­ture and aero­space and the bat­ter­ies will be avail­able at eco­nom­i­cal prices based on the de­sign ca­pa­bil­i­ties and in-house prod­uct de­vel­op­ment. He also said that they are in talks with de­fence lab­o­ra­to­ries for its ap­pli­ca­tions in tanks, mis­siles and com­mu­ni­ca­tion equip­ment. These bat­ter­ies can work un­der harsh con­di­tions, weigh less than four times com­pared with lead acid tech­nol­ogy and can also de­liver high dis­charge cur­rents.

The prod­ucts are cur­rently avail­able in 0.2KWH to 2KWH (agri­cul­tural drones, auto-mo­biles), 2 to 20 KWH (aero­space, elec­tric au­tos and car­ries, tele­com and house hold) and 50 to 500 KWH (res­i­den­tial so­ci­eties, data cen­ters and in­dus­trial en­ti­ties).
