Qatar Petroleum has announced a five-year deal to directly supply liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to China’s Oriental Energy, according to Kallanish Energy reports.

Under this agreement, Qatar Petroleum will supply Oriental Energy with some 600,000 tonnes per year of LPG. The contract starts in January 2019, and reflects the company’s marketing strategy to promote direct engagement with end-users, especially in China.

Oriental Energy has the largest LPG distribution network and storage facilities in China. It owns five major LPG importing terminals along with petrochemical facilities.

LPG utilization in China includes both domestic use and usage by the growing petrochemical sector.
