Global technology and engineering company Emerson will be offering its complete portfolio for ONGC’s KG-DWN 98/2 project. This will include control systems, instruments, valves, the reservoir modelling software and some of the additional applied web capabilities. For this Emerson has announced a grassroots (green field) manufacturing centre for a number of products in Pune that will take around two years to complete. According to a news report in BusinessLine, this will also enable Emerson to use India as a global engineering centre for R& D of products and also for working on global projects. The capital expenditure for the initial phase of this facility will be $100 million.

Technip will act as a provider through them and they’ll be engineering a large portion of the project.
