JV Of Oman-Kuwait awarded con­tract for Duqm re­fin­ery

Duqm Re­fin­ery & Petro­chem­i­cal In­dus­tries Co. LLC (DRPIC), Mus­cat, a joint ven­ture of state-owned Oman Oil Co. and Kuwait Pe­tro­leum Corp. sub­sidiary Kuwait Pe­tro­leum In­ter­na­tional Ltd., has let a con­tract to John Wood Group PLC to pro­vide two of its pro­pri­etary Ter­race Wall dou­ble-fired de­layed coker heaters for the long-planned 230,000-b/d re­fin­ery and petro­chem­i­cal com­plex to be built in the Duqm Spe­cial Eco­nomic Zone (SEZAD) in Duqm, Al Wusta Gover­nate, on the south­east­ern coast of Oman (OGJ On­line, Apr. 4, 2017).

Ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ately, the mul­ti­mil­lion con­tract will be de­liv­ered by Wood’s process and tech­nol­ogy spe­cial­ists based in New Jer­sey and fol­lows Wood’s con­tri­bu­tion to the Duqm re­fin­ery to date, in­clud­ing de­liv­ery of the over­all pre­lim­i­nary front-end en­gi­neer­ing de­sign (FEED), FEED and on­go­ing project man­age­ment for the com­plex, Wood said on Oct 8th.
