PRIYA SINGH Miss Citadel Pune 2017

The journey of becoming ‘Miss Citadel’ is nothing short of perfection. The nine-day process of rejuvenation and preparation for the competition was more like a roller-coaster ride for me. I could not imagine how fast time flew. And our mentor, Lovell Prabhu made sure that every second of our training was invested in something productive. He is the catalyst that made us value the principles of punctuality and discipline. On our very first day of training at ELFA, Nutritionist Dr Avanti Chitnis Deshpande guided us through the components of a proper diet. Hairstylist Meryl-Joy gave us essential tips for the upkeep of our hair; the do’s and don’ts to perfectly strong tresses. This was followed by a skin analysis session by Dr Shaili Shah at The Wedding Clinic. When I say ‘Intense Workout’, I really mean it - blood, sweat and tears. But then, it is all because of former 1st Runner-Up Jillson T Edward, that we were all tuned and in shape for the final day. Our dance instructor Shivam Jadhav made sure that all of us danced right to the beat. All the efforts and time these people have invested in us, is commendable. In the short span of nine days, they have groomed us and made us ready for the finale. I am extremely grateful to Citadel magazine for having provided this platform to us; in fact, I fall short of words to express my gratitude for all the learning and evolution that entails this training. This competition as a whole has been a great experience, and I am glad to have been a part of it.

ROHAN SONAWANE Mr Citadel Pune 2017

My overall experience was amazing, as I had always wanted to try new things. And I am blessed to have parents, who always supported me to explore different activities, as the purpose of life is to live, taste the experiences, and to reach out eagerly. Money and fame will come and go, but our achievements are to be cherished forever. My interest to try new things was one of the reasons for me to enroll for the Mr & Miss Citadel Pune pageant. I still remember the first time I saw the other contestants and walked in for the interview and boldly told them my career ambitions; they were all very supportive and encouraging. As I grew close to my fellow contestants, I realized how humble and understanding they all are. I learnt so many new things while preparing for the pageant. We had hard working trainers who helped me reach where I am today! I’m extremely thankful for the experiences, memories, and the friends that I have made during this contest. The Citadel Extravaganza is such an amazing platform for budding models, who want to make their dreams come true. Your hard work, consistency and determination will always pay off in the end. It gave me the confidence, that this is the beginning of greater heights in my life. I live by the saying, ‘Winners do one thing that losers don’t: Focus.’ Thank you, Citadel, for making me a part of this amazing journey!
