Innovation
Ihave been following IAA Commercial Vehicle show for some time now. Your coverage of the 66th edition gave an indepth analysis of all that unfolded. It gave a sense of the changes that the commerical vehicle industry is going through. Key issues like electromobility, a digital future and urban logistics seem to have got their due this year. While there is concern over the adoption timeline of an efficient, safe, comfortable and green technology, it is comforting to hear about the progress being made behind the scenes. Innovative solutions can indeed reduce fuel consumption of CVs, and in-turn reduce the carbon footprint. Connectivity solutions like fleet management programmes, navigation and advanced maintenance services look promising too. Of the debuts this year, I found the Iveco Z to be the most exciting. A close second was the Mercedes-Benz Urban eTruck and Fuso eCanter. They are reflective of the CV industry future.
SJasmeet Rekhi, Changing world of buses
Chandigarh aw the October 2016, 10th anniversary issue, and quite liked it. I appreciate the content coverage. The issue accounts for a nice and appreciable work done by the team at CV. The drive stories of three different types of buses were interesting. Also, interesting were the stories on DTC, Chennai MTC and the MSRTC. Not only were they informative, they presented a real picture about where such undertakings stand, what challenges they face, and what opportunities they have. The main story on the bus industry also spoke about how buses have been playing a role of transporting people in India. It also spoke about the need for buses to address the demand, the changing nature of buses in India, and the underlying currents in the industry. Truly a bus industry special, the issue also focused on how coach builders are putting in more efforts to move up the value chain, offer modern and regulation compliant buses
