The LCV cargo car­rier mar­ket saw move­ment in 2017. A fo­cus of at­ten­tion by play­ers who have been tra­di­tion­ally strong in the M&HCV cat­e­gories, the move­ment in LCV seg­ment sig­nals their high po­ten­tial. De­mand for LCVs con­tin­ues to rise in-line with the growth in ur­ban­i­sa­tion. De­mand for LCVs is also driven by the fur­ther fine-tun­ning of hub and spoke trans­porta­tion model. Con­tin­u­ing to ab­sorb new tech­nol­ogy and smart ways of ad­dress­ing cus­tomer de­mand, LCVs are com­ing to play an im­por­tant role by ad­dress­ing a clien­tele that is di­verse in na­ture. The win­ner – Ashok Ley­land Part­ner, is a small truck with big cargo space. It is smart, mod­ern, ag­ile and easy to ma­noeu­vre. It is pow­ered by a 118 hp 3.0-litre diesel engine mated to a five-speed trans­mis­sion.
