CV applicatio­ns can be highly diverse and differ in terms of use, and in terms of productivi­ty gains. An outcome of diverse technologi­cal inputs, they can mean different business propositio­ns to different people. Of the four nomination­s received, it was the tarmac coach from Veera Vahana Udyog that drew attention. Claimed to have been certified by the Government of India, the tarmac coach measures 14.5 m in length. An ultra low floor design, it is built from aggregates that have been sourced from leading suppliers. Designed in accordance with IATA AHM 950, the tarmac coach is powered by a 180 hp 5.8-litre engine mated to an Allison 2500 Series six-speed auto transmissi­on. The salient features of the vehicle include a steerable axle, pneumatic dual brake circuit, electronic­ally regulated air-conditioni­ng system, and Goodyear suspension. Available in right and left-hand drive, the tarmac coach that Veera is offering, has the capacity to carry 108 passengers (14+94 standees).
