Seven-speed tranny from VECV
VE Commercial Vehicles has announced the launch of a seven-speed transmission for its medium-duty CVs. To perform duty on Eicher Pro 3015 and Eicher Pro 1114XP to begin with, the seven-speed tranny is designed for smooth gearshifts and less torque interruption. Termed as ET50S7, the gearbox is mated to the 135 hp 3.2-litre E494 diesel engine with a maximum torque of 450Nm @ 1200-1800 rpm. It is designed and developed to optimise drivability, fuel efficiency and productivity while reducing driver fatigue. Expected to forward the image of Eicher trucks as the ones that are fuel efficient, the new seven-speed transmission will enable the vehicle to operate at a higher torque range (due to a flat torque curve) and eliminate the need to repeatedly shift gears. Said Vinod K. Aggarwal, MD and CEO, VE Commercial Vehicles, that the seven-speed transmission is revolutionary, and will help to enhance fuel efficiency and performance.
