Tata Motors sells one-lakh telematics systems
Tata Motors has sold one-lakh advanced telematics systems. Said to have set up a new benchmark in terms of connectivity as far as its CVs are concerned, the company offered these one-lakh advanced telematics systems with the CVs it sold. Claiming to be the first OEM to achieve this feat, the availability of telematics systems on board the CVs improved their ability to be tracked and traced; their ability to avail preventive maintenance, and reach out to the nearest dealer. Offered under the brand name of Tata Fleetman, the advanced telematics systems go beyond the basic location-based services that have now become commonplace. Generating rich fleet insights, and enabling collaboration with fleet operators to offer specific interventions towards improvement in utilisation, performance and safety of the fleet, Tata Fleetman is closely integrated with Tata Motors’ Suraksha, which is a maintenance contract offering. Helping with proactive maintenance intervention process based on real-time fault code transmission, Tata Fleetman is gearing up for the next level of fleet telematics with advanced trip management features that cater to the complex requirements of sectors like ecommerce.
