Sales plummet

The Indian auto industry produced overall 9,724,373 vehicles in April-July 2019, registerin­g a decline of (-) 10.65 per cent, as against the production of 10,883,730 vehicles in April-July 2018. In April-July 2019, 7,910,554 vehicles were sold, down by (-) 13.90 per cent, as compared to the sale of 9,187,965 vehicles in AprilJuly 2018. In July 2019, 1,825,148 vehicles were sold, down by (-) 18.71 per cent, as compared to the sale of 2,245,223 vehicles in July 2018. In April-July 2019, 265,164 Commercial Vehicles (CVs) were sold, decline of (-) 13.57 per cent, as compared to the sale of 306,781 CVs in April-July 2018. In July 2019, 56,866 CVs were sold, down by (-) 25.71 per cent, as compared to 76,545 units in July 2018. In April-July 2019, 92,093 M&HCVs were sold, a de-growth by (-) 21.63 per cent, as compared to the sale of 117,518 units in April-July 2018. In July 2019, 17,722 M&HCVs were sold, down by (-) 37.48 per cent, as compared to the sale of 28,347 units in July 2018. In April-July 2019, 173,071 LCVs were sold, down by (-) 8.56 per cent, as compared to the sale of 189,263 units in AprilJuly 2018. In July 2019, 39,144 LCVs were sold, down by (-) 18.79 per cent, as compared to the sale of 48,198 units in July 2018. In AprilJuly 2019, 205,516 three wheelers were sold, down by (-) 7.43 per cent, as compared to the sale of 222,014 units in April-July 2018. In July 2019, 55,719 three wheelers were sold, down by (-) 7.66 per cent, as compared to the sale of 60,341 units in July 2018.

Exports

In April-July 2019, 17,402 CVs were exported, showing (-) 47.30 per cent decline, as compared to the export of 33,024 units in April-July 2018. In July 2019, 5,794 CVs were exported, going south by (-) 32.87 per cent, as compared to the export of 8,631 CVs in July 2019. In AprilJuly 2019, 7,028 M&HCVs were exported, down by (-) 54.67 per cent, as compared to the export of 15,504 units in April-July 2018. In July 2019, 2,212 were exported, down by (-) 48.62 per cent, as compared to the export of 4,305 units in July 2018. In April-July 2019, 10,374 LCVs were exported, down by (-) 40.79 per cent, as compared to the export of 17,520 units in April-July 2018. In July 2019, 3,582 LCVs were exported, down by (-) 17.2 per cent, as compared to export of 4,326 units in July 2018. In April-July 2019, 165,494 three wheelers were exported, down by (-) 12.8 per cent, as compared to the export of 189,780 units in AprilJuly 2018. In July 2019, 40,315 three wheelers were exported, down by (-) 12.24 per cent, as compared to the export of 45,939 units in July 2018.
