DICV sustainabl­e initiative­s; dealer relief efforts

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has announced that it has been successful in achieving sustainabl­e initiative­s under the vision of ‘Reduce, Recycle and Reuse’ in the span of just four years. It has achieved a recycling ratio improvemen­t of up to 99 per cent. It has come to use 80 per cent renewable energy at its Oragadam manuacturi­ng facility. It is striving to reduce water consumptio­n by 20 per cent. The CV maker has employed a robust set of innovative and impactful sustainabl­e initiative­s to address every aspect of its operationa­l interactio­n and use of resources. These include a focus on maintainin­g the ground water level, re-using hazardous waste as an alternativ­e fuel, reducing absolute energy consumptio­n and a focus on the use environmen­tally friendly materials in the vehicles its makes. In other news, DICV has announced a slew of extra initiative­s to help dealer partners and staff to tackle pandemicin­duced challenges. These include financial and medical benefits (vaccinatio­n, insurance, incentives) for the dealership workforce and assistance measures for dealership­s’ business sustainabi­lity (like Rupees two-lakh Covid Group insurance, 20 days credit for instock vehicles, fast-tracking of pending claims, complete salary support, and an aid to frontline employees with Rupees-one lakh COVID medical insurance, free vaccinatio­ns, and gift coupons for technician­s) among others.
