India’s first hydrogen fuelling station in Leh

The National Thermal Power Corporatio­n Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC-REL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has invited a tender to set up India’s first hydrogen fueling station in Leh. Following on the heels of the NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. tender for procuremen­t of fuel cell buses for Ladakh, the two entities will join forces to execute the Green Mobility Project in the Union Territory of Ladakh. The project will be powered by a dedicated 1.2 MW solar plant to make the hydrogen fueling station completely green. The project is expected to be a major boost to tourism in the region and usher in a new era of emission-free transport in and around.
