600 e-rickshaws flagged off under Parivartan

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has rolled out 600 e-rickshaws in the city. It has established the city’s first Electric Three-Wheeler Zone (ETWZ) where diesel and CNG rickshaws will be banned from entering. The zone covers Udyog Vihar, Ambience Mall, DLF Phases 1, 2, 3 and 4, DLF-5, Cyber City-Golf Course Road stretch, Mall Mile, Huda City Centre (HCC), sectors 28 and 29, and Wazirabad. 150 e-rickshaws will depart from the Galleria Market; 450 will depart from various other locations within the zone. Launched by the Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, the scheme, in the first phase, will see 2,000 diesel rickshaws being replaced at an estimated investment of rupees six crore through the MCG,
