Bus rates shoot up in festive season

Public and private bus operators hiked bus rates leading into the festive season across cities like Odisha, Pune and Bengaluru. They have done so due to the high fuel prices. In Pune, private bus as well as cab operators have increased fares upto 15 per cent effective from November 01, 2021. Similarly, the state-owned Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has increased fares by 17 per cent on all routes. The fares of Shivneri AC buses plying between Mumbai and Pune have also increased by a large margin. The luxury buses plying between Bengaluru and Hyderabad have also doubled their ticket fares.
