First Brazilian Volvo innovation concept truck
Volvo has developed a new efficiency concept truck, Volvo FH 6x4 rodotrem, equipped with innovative technology. Built by the Brazilian and worldwide engineering of the brand, this project is a joint collaboration between Randon, Hyva, and Continental offering unique and new innovations in the implement, hydraulic system, and tyres, respectively. “This truck is a laboratory on wheels, where we are going to test technologies that will come to series vehicles in the future. This is the first concept truck built in Brazil, for the reality of transport we have here”, said Fabrício Todeschini, Director of vehicle engineering at Volvo in Brazil. “The set as a whole was designed to ensure lower diesel consumption, increase availability and provide more safety in operation,” explains Juliane Tosin, Volvo engineering project manager. The company is testing several new concepts, both on the tractor and on the implement witnessing improvements in the engine, aerodynamics, energy management and much more.
