Cummins hydrogen fuel cell centre
Cummins Inc. opened a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain integration centre at West Sacramento, in California. Aimed at scaling up the green hydrogen economy in the United States, Cummins is invested in the Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC). At the facility in California, spread over an expanse of 18,000 sq. ft. the focus will be on PEM. The latter is considered to be a good solution for high-power transportation applications, like heavy-duty or long-haul trucks. Designed specially for hydrogen innovation, including safety features, the new facility houses fuel cell integration and fuel cell powertrain development including testing, controls and electrical engineering.
