General Motors last-mile electric delivery wing BrightDrop, announced Walmart as new EV customer and expanded its collaborat­ion with FedEx at CES 2022. It also introduced the BrightDrop EV600, an all-electric light commercial vehicle purpose-built for the delivery of goods and services. The EV600, built on GM’s Ultium Platform, was conceived in just 20 months prior to initial deliveries to FedEx, making it the fastest vehicle to market in GM’s history. Another addition headlining GM’s CES 2022 was 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV. Developed from the ground up, the full size pickup leverages the power of GM’s Ultium Platform. Available in two configurat­ions, an RST First Edition and a fleet-oriented WT model, each will offer a comprehens­ive suite of standard and available safety technologi­es. RST First Edition includes four-wheel steering, automatic adaptive air suspension, Multi-Flex Midgate that expands the truck’s cargo capability, available Multi-Flex Tailgate with power release, Large, 17-inch-diagonal LCD freeform infotainme­nt screen, trailering-capable Super Cruise. The WT will be launched first for fleet customers and offer impressive capability to meet the needs of organisati­ons with sustainabl­e transporta­tion goals, including 510 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque. The WT version will offer 8,000 pounds of towing and 1,200 pounds of payload. After initial launch, Chevrolet will introduce a fleet model with up to 20,000 pounds max trailering with the max tow package.
