Tata Power partners Hyundai Motor India
Tata Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hyundai Motors India Ltd. (HMIL) to form strategic partnerships. The partnership will aim at facilitating the development of a robust EV charging network to accelerate the adoption of EVs across India. The MoU was signed in the presence of Unsoo Kim, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, HMIL and Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, Tata Power at the HMIL’s Corporate Headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana. Tata Power’s DC 60 kW fast chargers will be installed by HMIL across 34 of its EV Dealerships in 29 cities, in addition to the existing AC 7.2 kW chargers. HMIL aims at enhancing customer convenience by developing a wide network of fast charging stations through this collaboration and it also looks at offering special tariffs for its customers. Tata Power, on the other hand, will supply end-to-end home charging solutions, from charger supply to installation for Hyundai EV customers. Under this partnership, Tata Power will operate and maintain the charging stations and HMIL will provide space and necessary administrative approvals through its dealerships. These charging stations will be accessible through Hyundai and Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App. for all-electric vehicle customers.
