ZF and Mercedes-Benz Trucks partner on PTOs for e-trucks

ZF Friedrichshafen and Mercedes=Benz Trucks have partnered for Power TakeOffs (PTOs) for electric trucks. The eWorkX will be harnessed to drive onboard electrical equipment. Wilhelm Rehm, Board Member at ZF said, “ZF is advancing the electric transformation of the commercial vehicle industry for a more sustainable future. A mechanical interface, the eWorkX features electric motors with a 50 kW capacity, an inverter and a control unit. The applicationspecific software is coupled with a cooling system and a hydraulic pump. It is known to have been applied on the eActros quipped with a hook loader from Meiller, a leading tip trailer company also into hook lifts and skip handlers.
