Tata Motors J&K bus order

Tata Motors has bagged a tender for supplying 200 electric buses for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). As per the contract received from the Government of J&K, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) will supply 150 units of the nine-metre variant and 50 units of a 12m variant of the electric Starbus. Tata Motors will operate and maintain these buses for a period of 12 years under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC). The collaboration is a part of an initiative of the Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of J&K aimed at establishing an environmentally, socially and financially sustainable network of public transport.
