We trusted the brand Pres­tige and bought their Clas­sic Steel Kitchen chim­ney from Ser­am­pore Gallery. As per seller’s ad­vice, we called Pres­tige’s cus­tomer care to in­stall the same. They took their own time to in­stall and thereon the prob­lem started. Ev­ery time we switched on the chim­ney, one or the other ap­pli­ance in the kitchen would get af­fected – that is, not func­tion prop­erly. Ear­lier the Pres­tige tech­ni­cian blamed our elec­tri­cal wiring, but later it was es­tab­lished that the chim­ney’s cir­cuits were faulty. The cus­tomer care ac­cepted that the chim­ney was de­fec­tive and as­sured that it would be re­placed within four days. How­ever, weeks have gone by with­out any word from the com­pany. More­over, the chim­ney has got worse as some oil is drip­ping out of it. Dai­payan Ghosh
