AWhile not many of you would have seen an actual will, most of you would know of it from Bollywood films wherein the villainous characters conspire to get their names as heirs in the will of some about-to-die wealthy old man. Many of you would remember a most dramatized part where the camera zooms in on the faces of the villains when they get to know that as per the dead man’s will his fortune has gone to a charity. In this chapter, we have made an attempt to bring forth the significance of the will and in the course of it have underlined the fact that it is an important instrument that is simple enough to execute. will refers to a written legal declaration of the intention of a person with respect to his/her property/estate which he/she desires to be carried into effect after his/ her death It is a unilateral document and can be revoked or altered by the maker of it at any time during his/her lifetime. A will is also called testament.
