C for Conservation

And Some Things that Must Be Constant

This is a tricky topic for me to write on. The word ‘conserve’ is the root from which both ‘conservation’ and ‘conservative’ have been derived. Anyone who knows me will agree that I am not here to encourage the ‘conservative’. What we do want to do is to conserve the natural and cultural heritage of a region and its communities; at the same time, we also need to accept that change is inevitable and can be positive.
