All brands passed the phosphatase test. All brands of milk were found free from adulteration with neutralizers, detergents, caustic sodas, urea, formaldehyde and melamine. They met the requirements of Indian Standard and FSS Rules. Oxytocin was not detected in any brand. (Daily oxytocin injections given immediately before milking increase milk production. Oxytocin does not increase the amount of milk but makes it flow faster.)
