I have three Vodafone connections in my name. In October, Vodafone charged me Rs 2,700 for about 30 ISD calls on two numbers, at the rate of Rs 50 per minute for each call. When I checked, I found that these calls were made to a fake number. We were receiving regular missed calls from this number. My concerns are that we may have called these fake numbers for a minute or two to find out their origin, but none of these calls was made for 30 minutes. Secondly, we do not know of any country to which a calling rate of Rs 50 per minute is applicable. How come we are being charged Rs 50 per minute for these calls? Since we decided not to pay the bill for October and requested for a review, Vodafone barred their services on our numbers. While the company wants us to clear the dues, we want them to waive off the charges for the calls to those fake numbers. Rohit Mathur The issue raised by you is serious and the calls from fake numbers must be investigated. While we are writing to the concerned company and await their revert, we request you to raise the issue with their nodal officer. If not resolved, then you may raise the concern with their appellate authority.
