How We Conducted the Test

BIS has specified standards for beauty products even though they do not come under mandatory certification. We assessed the brands of lipsticks as per IS: 9875:1990 and kajal as per IS: 15154:2002. We used the ICP-MS method to detect the presence of lead and arsenic in the products.
