For regulatory authoritie­s: It should be made compulsory for manufactur­ers to mention the presence of heavy metals on the product label. It should be made compulsory to give the net contents for products of all sizes. If required, a separate label should be attached. There should be strict implementa­tion of the rule that states that dangerous ingredient­s should be mentioned. Unsafe beauty products should be removed from the market and strict penalty imposed. There should be a ban on import of cheap and unsafe brands. Necessary standards should be constantly upgraded. Samples of products should be taken from time to

time and checked in independen­t laboratori­es.

Buy prestigiou­s brands so that they can get their concerns/queries addressed in the shop itself or by the company. Do not buy cheap brands with inadequate

labelling. Stop using cosmetics that cause burning in the

eyes or skin.

Use cosmetic products on special occasions only.
