As per FSS Reg­u­la­tions, io­dine con­tent in ed­i­ble iodised salt at re­tailer level shall not be less than 15 ppm (parts per mil­lion) on dry weight ba­sis. Io­dine con­tent was as per FSS spec­i­fi­ca­tion in all

the brands. Io­dine con­tent was found low­est in JMD Good Health (18.47 ppm).


The ma­te­rial shall be packed in food-grade plas­tic. The thick­ness of the plas­tic film used for pack­ing shall be not less than 50 mi­crons.
