KEY FINDINGS

Adulteration was found in loose-oil samples collected from all the 14 states. The adulteration rate was found between 16.5 per cent (sunflower oil) and 84.56 per cent (coconut oil). Highest adulteration was found in loose-oil samples of coconut oil (84.56 per cent), cottonseed oil (74.07 per cent), sesame oil (74 per cent), and mustard oil (71.77 per cent). The lowest was in sunflower oil (16.5 per cent) and soyabean oil (20 per cent).
