Key Findings
Based on the overall score , Aquaguard and Kent are the top performers. Some of the water purifiers could not meet the specified limit for toxic metals like arsenic, mercury and
copper. None of the brands could meet the requirement for microbiological safety, specifically with regard to E.
coli and MS2 virus. Thus, none can be said to provide water that is completely safe for consumption. Storage capacity of Aquaguard, Pureit, Usha, Electrolux and Tata Swach was found to be less than
their claim. Waste water of all tested brands was found between 62 per cent and 71 per cent, which was within the
prescribed limit.
