Food’s Carbon Footprint

The amount of greenhouse gases emitted in the environment during production, processing and disposal of a food product is denoted as that product’s carbon footprint. The ways in which a food product is grown/reared, farmed, processed, transported, stored, cooked and disposed of plays a significant role in deciding this figure.
