Food Adulteration
Food adulteration is not classified as ‘food fraud’. The FDA in its Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act states that ‘adulteration’ is different from food fraud. FSSAI clearly defines food adulteration as ‘the addition or subtraction of any substance to or from food, so that the natural composition and quality of food substance is affected.’ Food Article Bengal gram dal and toor dal Tea Coffee powder Milk Wheat and other food grains (bajra) Sugar Black powder Mustard powder Adulterant Kesari dal
