INSTEAD SAY: “I understand how you feel, breaking-up is awful.” You need to remain neutral—after all, your friend’s relationsh­ip may have ended, but there’s always a chance they could reconcile. “Tell your friend that whatever she is feeling is fine,” says Dr Nour. “Understand she’s mourning the loss of a relationsh­ip, its memories and hopes they may have had for a future together.”
