1 When Art Meets Whimsy
Trishla Jain is a poetry graduate from Stanford, who discovered the world of art at the age of seven and hasn’t stopped putting her thoughts to canvas since. Her most popular work is inspired by Rumi, Shakespeare and Bollywood kitsch and is often peppered with old comics, catch phrases and vintage film posters. The 26-year-old prodigy with no formal training in art, uses snatches of verse on canvas (on right), making them her own by recombining them in her individualistic style. Her fabulous creations are the kind you’d use to add colour to a room, or create a focal point in your space. Catch her at the Gallery BMB in Mumbai (Feb 10-March 6).
