Mahima M Mahajan, 24, was given the challenge of working style goddess Sonam Kapoor’s casual-chic Salvatore Ferragamo look. The fashion designer agreed she had some pretty big sartorial shoes to fill... For Sonam’s laid-back but super-chic look, Cosmo gave Mahima a structured blazer, a layered shirt, jeggings, wedges and the staple—a tan satchel. The signature red lips and easy wavy hair could not be skipped, of course! There was a constant chatter surrounding our celeb look-alike as she wafted in and out of stores and waited for her cuppa at a restaurant. “Wow, that girl is really well-dressed!” and “I like her pants...is she a star or something?” were some of the comments heard by our crew. While most passerbys admired Mahima’s sharp style from afar, few astute ones wondered if she might actually be related to Sonam Kapoor. “It was really flattering, actually,” Mahima says. “I received a tonne of compliments from random people, and so many people asked if I was a model, fashion designer, stylist or moviestar! I guess it helps to be (this) welldressed... even if all you’re doing is hanging at the mall.”
