THE SCIENCE BIT
Women use up to 8,000 words, 3,000 vocal noises and 10,000 non-verbal signals (facial expressions, head movements and body language) a day. Compare that to a man’s daily communications, and the problem starts to become clear. He uses 4,000 words, up to 2,000 vocal noises and only 3,000 facial and body signals. Meaning that we use non-verbal signals more than three times as
often as men.
