Meet the Sarcastialist (Or the Funny Version of Street Style)

This parody Twitter account takes popular street style pics and makes up funny captions to go with them! The result—thousands of (giggling) followers!

At Cosmo, we love fashion inspiration off the streets, which is why we’ve been fervently following photo-bloggers like The Sartorialist (‘inspiration’ for The Sarcastialist, BTW), Stockholm Street Style, and Tommy Ton. But now, there’s a new social-media obsession in town, and it’s kinda making fun of all our fave street-style blogs. The anonymous founder of @Sarcastialist takes well-dressed people’s photos off famous blogs, and captions them with tonnes of wit and realism. “The Sarcastialist came about because of the way the people in ‘street style’ blogs are portrayed. We’re meant to think these characters are having a much better time than we are... Spending all day drinking eight quid cappuccinos, before riding home on their Danish racing bikes to watch Jean-Luc Godard films,” the Liverpool-based founder told Buzzfeed. com. “This might be true but I’m convinced they have to worry about waiting in for the Iceland feller, or getting mince out of the freezer as much as the rest of us, so I thought it would be nice to show another angle,” he adds. Bottom line: if you’re looking for a good guffaw during lunch hour, follow this clever account!
