Recently Travis Kalanick recently resigned from the position of Chief Executive Officer of Uber. He was facing pressure from the key investors and the shareholders of the company. He is the originator of the idea of a mobile app that connects passengers with drivers of vehicles for hire and ridesharing services, this idea has created fortunes for Uber. Later this idea was adopted by many cab companies across the world.
Kalanick’s resignation as Uber’s CEO has put company’s IPO in doubt, currently there is no senior person in the company to take his place. There are around over 1,000 of Uber employees have filed a petition for his return.
In the past, many of the famous CEOS and founders of the companies have resigned from the job, after taking their companies to a next level of growth. Jerry Yang of Yahoo Jack Dorsey of Twitter and Martin Eberhard of Tesla are some of the co-founders and CEOS of the company, and their resignations has impacted the growth and overall brand value of their companies.
The impact of the resignation of the top CEO, affect the brand value, share value and market value of the company. The growth and expansion of the company gets striated. It takes years for the company to build the reputation again and to create new face of the brand.
