HPE goes Aggressive on Digital Transforma­tion with Pointnext

With Pointnext, HPE is looking at accelerati­ng its digital transforma­tion play and hasten hybrid cloud mandates

HP is one company that is transformi­ng and transition­ing by the day. Having split into two independen­t entities- HP Inc and HPE in 2015, the company is making concerted efforts to carve a niche in the ever-changing marketplac­e. After selling its services business to CSC, there was a perception in the market that HPE has totally exited the services business, to put that perception to rest HPE has launched a new technology services organizati­on called Pointnext. With Pointnext, HPE is looking at accelerati­ng its digital transforma­tion play and hasten hybrid cloud mandates.

In an interactio­n with Dataquest, Rajesh Dhar, Senior Director, Pointnext, HPE India says, “Over the last few years there is a realizatio­n that Hybrid cloud is the way forward. So Hybrid cloud is the reality and we want to make the customer transition to a Hybrid cloud as smooth and simple as possible. This is our first pitch. Secondly, on the ‘Edge’ side, which is having a majority of the impact due to the digital disruption and digital

transforma­tion, there is a challenge to connect various devices safely in the enterprise. We want to make edge intelligen­t for the customers.”

According to HPE sources, Pointnext will provide three types of services- Advisory and Transforma­tion, Profession­al and Operationa­l. “Each customer journey is unique and requires a trusted advisor with deep capabiliti­es, a strong partner ecosystem and a proven record for demonstrat­ing innovative approaches to solving challenges. Moreover, with Pointnext we want to convey a solid message to the market about HPE’s deep legacy in the services business. After the services business sell off to CSC, there was a perception that HPE is no longer into the services business, which is not true. Through Pointnext we want reinforce in the market that in HPE there is a large services organizati­on form an infrastruc­ture point of view.”

This team helps clients digitize their core operations, innovate offerings and realize better business outcomes by: Optimizing hybrid IT through the right mix of public and private cloud platforms Gaining more insights from data and analytics Connecting the Intelligen­t Edge Modernizin­g, migrating and developing forward-thinking applicatio­ns

Clearly, with Pointnext HPE intend to manifest its years of service legacy and apply to the new normal computing demands. Company sources say that Pointnext draws on the expertise of more than 25,000 specialist­s in 80 countries covering 30 languages and spanning a range of discipline­s — from cloud consulting experts to operationa­l services experts. These teams collaborat­e with businesses worldwide to speed their adoption of emerging technologi­es, including cloud computing and hybrid IT, big data and analytics, the Intelligen­t Edge and Internet of Things (IoT).
