The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar (NIT Jalandhar or NITJ), formerly Regional Engineering College Jalandhar, is a public engineering institute located in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology of India. It was founded as a joint venture between the governments of Punjab and India, originally under the name Punjab Regional Engineering College, Jalandhar ( PREC). It has the following departments: Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, BioTechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Humanities and Management, Industrial and Production Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Textile Technology.All offer courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and are actively involved in research in their specific fields.
In the 2019 NIRF Rankings, the institute was ranked 113 among the engineering colleges in India.
