Pradeep Chandra lands in the hot seat
Low-profile officer K. Pradeep Chandra has been made principal secretary of Industries thanks to his background. An alumnus of IIT-Madras with a management diploma from IIM Calcutta and experienced with the working environs in the West, thanks to his stint abroad, Chandra was handpicked by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy himself. The officer, however, will have his work cut out for him, “cancelling projects involving investors in firms belonging to Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and sanctioning new ones but with the same incentives that were faulted by the CBI”.
