Man uses stolen cards to book hotel for Terry
A conman, who tried to book luxury holidays for soccer stars John Terry and Rio Ferdinand using stolen bank card details, has been jailed for four and a half years.
Faisal Madani, 48, posed as a friend of the players and attempted to spend around £110,000 through other people’s cards on trips for them. He even tried to use the details of underwear model Eva Herzigova for a holiday for Chelsea captain Terry.
The stars had no idea Madani was lying about his credentials, said prosecutor Helen Malcolm, The Daily Express reports.
Madani was sentenced earlier this month at Southwark Crown Court but judge Alistair McCreath banned publication of the case until the court dealt with another charge. Madani pleaded guilty to 17 counts of fraud.
