Hyundai denies warranty Extended warranty additional amount
Ihave taken delivery of a Hyundai Verna CRDI SX from Sri Lakshmi Automotives Pvt. Ltd, 5-533/1/B, Prasantnagar, beside Metro, Kukatpally, (Invoice No. A2010003373 dated January 28, 2011 and delivery/order dealer: S5200).
I opted for third year extended warranty by paying the requisite charges. Accordingly, the dealer filled in the form and gave me a copy at the time of the vehicle’s delivery. When I went for my third free service on January 25, 2012, I was told by the service staff that the vehicle is not covered under extended warranty. When I enquired, the dealer informed me that they have forgotten to update the data with the company and will do so within a week.
Since then, I visited the dealer on several occasions, but they have not confirmed the extended warranty. On my last visit on February 27, the dealer demanded additional payment for extended warranty which I refused to pay, as I had already paid the requisite amount for the warranty at the time of vehicle’s delivery, that is `9,300.
They said the extended warranty cannot be given to me, stating that the
I paid 9,300 for extended warranty when I purchased the vehicle, but now after an year, Hyundai is demanding additional payment for the extended warranty saying that the amount originally paid by me is insufficient. amount paid by me was inadequate. This was never informed to me during the last one year. I failed to understand this reason as I was given the extended warranty form at the time of the vehicle delivery after charging the requisite amount.
This has been brought to the notice of Hyundai customer care (complaint No. 1-94754157) and through emails on May 2 and 28. They said the dealer/area office will contact me in three days. So far no one has called me. As suggested by them, I called their representative at their office on 040-64631130. She took all the details of the case, but so far no action has been taken.
