T-WRITERS REFUSE ASDF TO ATTEND WTC

- DC CORRESPONDENT WARANGAL, DEC. 25

sdf Terming the three-day World Telugu Conference, scheduled in Tirupati from December 27, a political conspiracy to sidetrack the separate statehood agitation, noted poet and short-story writer Prof Raamaa Chandramouli, has declined the invite from Dr Rallabandi Kavitha Prasad, director, department of culture.

In an email reply to Rallabandi Kavitha Prasad on December 22, Prof Raamaa, expressed his inability to attend the Aadhunika Kavi Sammelanam (modern poetry session) on the inaugural day.

“When people are dying for separate statehood, it makes no sense attending the WTC, which is being organised with a hidden agenda to project that Telangana intellectuals are against statehood, which is not true,” he said.

Following suit was writer and Kakatiya University’s Telugu department Board of Studies chairman, who has similarly declined the Telugu Academy invitation for WTC meet on ground of discrimination to Telangana language and writers.

“From second class to degree books, Telangana writers are never considered for textbook writing. Hence, I have declined the invite for WTC, which is being organised at a time when the region reported 1000 suicides for T,” said Prof Ailaiah.
